An autism friendly early opening will be held at Knebworth House during the Easter holidays.

The early opening for families with children and adults on the autistic spectrum, with learning disabilities or sensory and communication disorders will take place on Tuesday, April 2.

On that day the Gardens, Park, Adventure Playground and Dinosaur Trail at the Hertfordshire stately home will open early at 8.30am, with the aim to give families the chance to enjoy the facilities in a quieter, more peaceful environment.

Managing director Martha Lytton Cobbold said: “We are pleased to offer our autism friendly early opening again this year and hope that families can enjoy Knebworth Gardens & Park and all it has to offer in a calm and relaxed atmosphere during the busy Easter holidays.”

Knebworth's Adventure Playground was designed with a strong consideration of inclusion for all, such as a roundabout with its own wheelchair station, a nest swing and sensory equipment, without the loud and busy crowds.

From 10.30am the Park, Gardens and Playground will be open as usual to the public, but early visitors are welcome to stay until close at 5pm.

Knebworth House is a popular filming location and has been featured in productions like The Crown and the recent Netflix smash The Gentleman.
