Traffic on the M25 today (Thursday, March 21) has been delayed following a multiple vehicle collision between Junction 25 for Potters Bar and Junction 24 for Cheshunt.

Two lanes in the clockwise direction have been closed, causing delays of approximately 35 minutes, and around six miles of congestion.

As of 4.30pm, National Highways traffic officers were on scene.

It follows an incident earlier today where lanes were closed after a lorry broke down shortly before 2pm.

A National Highways spokesperson said: "Lanes 3 and 4 are closed on the M25 clockwise between J24 Potters Bar and J25 Cheshunt due to a multi vehicle collision.

"National Highways Traffic Officers are on scene. There are currently delays of 35 minutes and approximately 6 miles of congestion."

Hertfordshire Highways confirmed to the Welwyn Hatfield Times that two cars were recovered shortly before 5.30pm, and that the closed lanes are expected to be open again shortly.
