An arrest has been made after a man in his 60s was hospitalised with facial injuries following a suspected assault in Hatfield.

Police were called following reports of an altercation in The Pastures at around 3pm on Thursday, March 7, where a verbal argument had allegedly broken out between two people.

A man in his 60s was physically assaulted and taken to hospital having sustained a cut to his mouth.

A 35-year-old man from Welwyn Garden City was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
