Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is inviting the public to a special Mother's Day Memorial Service at Oak Hill Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium on Saturday, March 9.

Starting at 11am, the service offers a celebration of the lives of late mothers and mother figures, providing a solemn occasion for much-missed individuals to be remembered.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities including lighting a candle, penning a heartfelt message, or posting a card in one of the dedicated areas of the cemetery.

Refreshments and calm, reflective music will be complimentary, aiding participants in their moments of remembrance.

Open to all regardless of faith, the service is free to attend, and visitors are welcome between 11am and 12 noon.

Councillor Max Holloway, executive member for Community and Leisure, said: "We’re delighted to host this special service for Mother's Day at Oak Hill Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium.

"We know how important it is to have a place to remember and honour our loved ones, especially on such a meaningful occasion.

"We hope that this service will bring comfort and solace to those who have lost their mothers or mother figures and that they will feel the support and care of our community."
