Despite the gloomy February weather, the Tewin Memorial Hall recently buzzed with laughter at the annual senior citizens' luncheon.

Organised by the Friends of Tewin, more than 90 residents were warmly welcomed to the event.

Attendees were offered pre-lunch drinks, followed by a choice of creamy fish pie or chicken cobbler for mains, and toffee apple bake or lemon mousse for pudding.

A quiz was conducted, rounding off the afternoon with servings of tea, coffee, and chocolates.

A spokesperson from Friends of Tewin said: "There is something special about celebrating time together and the laughter and smiling faces of our guests were a tonic for us all.

"Many who attended have told us how much they enjoyed their afternoon which is heartening for us, as a committee, and also our band of helpers on the day.

"A big thank you goes to them – we couldn’t cope on the day without you".
