Mount Grace School in Potters Bar welcomed the mayor of Hertsmere and his consort to their whole-school careers event last week.

Cllr Chris Myers and his consort Cllr Christian Gray launched the event on Thursday, February 15, which featured a wide range of speakers and industry professionals.

Attendees shared their personal career journeys, offered advice and discussed trends in their respective fields with pupils from Years 7 to 13.

Stalls were set up by both Potters Bar professionals and globally recognised names, including Sky Studios, the RAF, Warner Bros and the NHS.

Representatives from colleges, universities and vocational training programmes were also on hand to provide information about further education options.

During lessons, students learnt about careers linked to their subjects. This included learning about journalism in English, where a crime was staged resulting in seven teachers being suspected criminals, and developing debating skills when learning about the legal system in history.
