A person has sadly died after being hit by a train between Potters Bar and Hatfield on Saturday.
Great Northern reported that a person had been struck between Finsbury Park and Welwyn Garden City, but now the British Transport Police have confirmed the tragic news.
"Officers were called just before 5pm on Saturday, February 10, following reports of a casualty on the tracks," a spokesman confirmed.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

"Tragically, a person died when struck by a King's Cross to Cambridge train between Potters Bar and Hatfield at about 5pm on Saturday, February 10," said a spokesperson for Govia Thameslink Railway.
"Trains were diverted via Hertford North while emergency services dealt with the incident, which British Transport Police declared non-suspicious.
"Passengers whose journeys were delayed by 15 minutes or more can claim delay repay compensation via the Thameslink or Great Northern websites."
