Welwyn Garden City-based charity Pets In Need Herts has launched a fundraiser for a "much needed" van and storage space.

The pet foodbank donates free pet food and daily care needs for animals across Hertfordshire and beyond, but is facing "an ever increasing demand" for its service.

The charity's JustGiving page has a target of £10,000 for the van and storage space, but has raised just £40 so far.

A spokesperson for Pets In Need Herts said: "We are seeking the community’s help to continue our mission and never let a pet go hungry, preventing owners to ever have to make the tough decision to re-home their beloved fur baby, due to the cost of living crisis.

"We are seeing an ever increasing demand for our service, but lack the resources and volunteers to reach the wider community in Herts, beds and bucks.

"We need your help and support please.
