Hatfield Hindu community holds Sunderkand Path event

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the Ram Mandir temple in Ayodhya, Utter Pradesh on January 22 - a historical and significant moment for Hindus around the world.

Ahead of the opening, members of Hatfield's Hindu community met at Hilltop Community Centre on January 20 and chanted the Sunderkand Path prayer.

The event was organised by Mousam Verma and his wife Geetu Gupta, with the help of volunteers from Welwyn Hatfield.

Around 150 people attended, including Mayor Cllr Pankit Shah and his Mayoress Vaishali Shah, and sang Bhajans (religious devotional songs).

A spokesperson for the group said: "It's wonderful to hear about the active engagement of the Hindu community in Welwyn Hatfield, making the borough vibrant and diverse.

The organisers thanked organisers Mousam, Geeta, Manish and Arti, as well as volunteers and sponsors including Sandeep, Vijay, Kamlesh, Sachin, Raunak and Gaurang, along with the religious group that conducted the Sunderkand Path.

Geetu added: "May the positive momentum indeed continue, creating more magical moments for the community in the future."
