Therapy ponies were special guests at a Christmas party for adults with learning disabilities.
Hertfordshire PCSOs Jo Woods and Sam Griffin, from the Welwyn Hatfield Safer Neighbourhood Team, attended the Hands On Day Centre’s Christmas party in Welham Green where they served dinner to the guests.
The pair had been visiting the centre held at North Mymms Cricket Club throughout the year, providing residents with crime prevention advice and addressing any issues requiring the police’s help.
The centre supports adults with learning disabilities and there were some special guests at the festive party — Arthur and Romeo from Pixie and Pickles therapy ponies.
PCSO Jo Woods said: “We are always made to feel so welcome at the centre and were thrilled to be able to help them celebrate their Christmas party.
Looking after our vulnerable members of the community is such an important part of neighbourhood policing. We’ve been attending the centre regularly to help build up their trust and remind them that we are always here to help them.
“We had a brilliant time and I would like to say thank you to the centre for us having us there.”
The Christmas dinner included turkey and all the trimmings, including roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, pigs in blankets, stuffing and Brussels sprouts.
The visit took place on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.
