A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital after a Ford Fiesta crashed on the A1(M).

The incident took place near Junction 1 for South Mimms at around 9.15pm yesterday evening (Thursday, January 4), when the car collided with the central reservation while travelling northbound.

Hertfordshire police attended, along with members of the East of England Ambulance Service and Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue Service.

The man in his 20s was then taken to hospital for treatment.

Road closures were put in place while the incident was being dealt with, which were lifted by 10.30pm.


A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Police were called at around 9.15pm yesterday (Thursday, January 4), following reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision on the A1(M).

"The incident happened on the northbound carriageway near junction one (South Mimms), where it is reported that a silver Ford Fiesta struck the central reservation.

"A man aged in his 20s was taken to hospital for treatment."
