Good day kind reader - I am a rather shy, but sweet natured and handsome black (approx) three-year-old neutered cat named Stanley.

I am sad to say I have not had a great start to my life, hence my plea to you for help.

Due to the circumstances of residing in a multi-cat household, I was taken, along with some of my pals, into Southridge RSPCA in September 2021.

While my friends have moved on I have been waiting since then for my forever home.

I was not used to being handled in my first home, which has left me rather nervous and wary of people, which is why I am often found hiding in my cat tree.

However, the kind staff and volunteers spend lots of time with me and I am gradually learning to trust more and I have heard them say what a sweet, special boy I am.

On warm days I love to sunbathe on my chair and when the weather is inclement you will find me snuggled in my warm blanket.

Due to my shy disposition, I need a calm, quiet, adult only home with a thoughtful, patient person or family who will give me time to adjust at my own pace.

I wouldn't mind having a good-natured cat companion, but absolutely no dogs please!!

I feel confident that in time I will come out of my shell and learn to trust, but initially I will need my own quiet space with lots of places to hide and climb up high.

With encouragement I enjoy playing and am fond of treats, so positive interactions with toys and food will help me to get to know you and feel happier and more secure.

I love the outdoors so once settled I will need a cat flap to pop in and out at will.

Please grant my New Year wish and open your heart and home to me.
