Plans have been submitted for a housing development on Green Belt land in Welwyn village.
Kingshall Estates Ltd have amended already approved plans to build on the land off Codicote Road - which would also provide access to the site - and their new application would see seven detached dwellings with associated detached garages, parking and amenity areas built.
Plans would also see upgrades to the existing access road following demolition of existing buildings.
"This application seeks a number of amendments to the previously approved scheme to enhance the layout and design of the approved dwellings, all of which are considered to result in a scheme that is far superior to that previously approved, is of a high quality and improved construction and is reflective of the rustic character and appearance of the area," a planning and design statement reads.
"This Planning Statement demonstrates that planning permission should be granted for the proposed amendments to a previously approved development.

"Although the site lies within the Green Belt, wherein new residential development is considered inappropriate development, however, the extant planning permission establishes the principle of the development in this location.
"The only material consideration is whether or not the proposed amendments to the previously approved scheme result in harm to the openness of the Green Belt and the character of the area.
"In this case, as demonstrated within the submission documents, they do not."
