People living at the Greenfields retirement housing complex in Cuffley are taking part in a year of seated exercise classes donated by local homebuilder Bellway.

The company, which is building new homes in the village at its King George’s Vale development, made a donation so that residents can have the 45-minute classes every Monday.

Around 10 residents now attend the weekly sessions, which are led by instructor Holly Scott from The Little Performers Dance Company.

They were joined at a recent session by Bellway site manager Raik Beyoglu and sales advisor Arjini Karunanithy, who made the short trip from King George’s Vale to take part in the class.

Iva Bradley-Jackson, scheme manager at Greenfields, which is run by First Garden Cities Homes, said: "The residents really enjoy taking part and importantly, feel the health benefits. Thank you to Bellway for this generous donation."

Sales manager at Bellway North London, Zoe Dobbs, said: "I know that Raik and Arjini very much enjoyed meeting the staff and residents at Greenfields on their recent visit, and are looking forward to welcoming visitors to the sales office at King George’s Vale as the new neighbourhood begins to take shape.

"We are very pleased to be supporting the seated exercise classes there for a whole year. As well as being great fun, the sessions are a brilliant way for residents to stay active, flexible, and strong all year round – and promote healthy living in the community."
