Planning applications and road closures are among the key Welwyn Hatfield public notices set to impact residents in the coming months.

1. Bulls Lane closure - Hatfield

Notice is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bulls Lane in Hatfield from its junction with Foxes Lane, south westwards for a distance of approximately 202m, except for access.

An alternative route will be via Bulls Lane, Bell Lane, A1000 Great North Road, Dixons Hill Road, Station Road and Bulls Lane.

The order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the road.

2. Coopers Green Lane closure - Hatfield

Notice is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using Coopers Green Lane, except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of roads whilst works are in progress.

Work will take place the length of Coopers Green Lane from its junction with the Oaklands Lane roundabout north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with the B653 Brocket Road/B197 Great North Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 5371m.

An alternative route will be via Oaklands Lane, Sandpit Lane, B651 (Sandridge Road/St Albans Road/High Street/Wheathampstead Road/The Hill/High Street/Station Road) and B653 (Codicote Road/Cory Wright Way/Marford Road/Brocket Road).

If the order is made, it shall come into force for a period of up to 18 months.

3. Harpsfield Broadway closure - Hatfield

Notice is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using Harpsfield Broadway, except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of roads whilst works are in progress.

Work will take place the length of Harpsfield Broadway from its southernmost junction with A1001 Comet Way north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Jetliner Way, a distance of approximately 100m.

An alternative route will be via A1001 Comet Way, Goldsmith Way and Jetliner Way.

If the order is made, it shall come into force for a period of up to 18 months.

4. Footpath closure - Welwyn Garden City

Notice is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of the following footpaths:

The footpath fronting numbers one to six The Green in Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Wheatley Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 83m.

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of Wheatley Road, the footway situated on the north and north west sides of Wellcroft Road, the footway situated on the south side of Wellcroft Close and the footpath situated on the north side of number six and number seven The Green.

The footpath fronting number eight to 12 The Green, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Wellcroft Road north eastwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 57m.

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north and north west sides of Wellcroft Road, the footway situated on the south side of Wellcroft Close and the footpath situated on the north side of number six and number seven The Green.

The order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the footpaths, and would last for a period of six months.

5. Planning application - homes in Potters Bar

Planning permission is sought for 2 Cranbome Road in Potters Bar, for the construction of two semi-detached two-bed dwellings on land adjacent to 2 Cranborne Road to include parking facilities.
