Legendary band Levellers will return to Hatfield Park next summer to headline Hertfordshire music festival Folk by the Oak 2024.

Organisers of the popular family-friendly music festival have made their first 2024 line-up announcement.

Levellers will close the festival in the grounds of Hatfield House on Sunday, July 21, 2024.

Best known for album Levelling the Land, the group last played Hatfield Park in 2017.

On announcing Levellers as their Main Stage headliners, festival director Adam Slough said: “Since their mighty performance at Folk by the Oak 2017 our wonderful audience have made many requests for the return of legendary band Levellers.

"One of the most sought-after festival bands in the country, we are so excited to welcome them back to close the 2024 festival with an explosive set of much-loved hits.”

Early bird tickets for Folk by the Oak are still available at www.folkbytheoak.com

Formed in the late 1980s in Brighton, Levellers' second album, Levelling the Land, included such seminal tracks as One Way, 15 Years and Liberty Song, and catapulted them to the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury as headliners in 1994.

What a Beautiful Day, one of their most successful singles, was released in 1997 but remains a festival anthem to this day.

Levellers' legion of loyal fans is rapidly expanding with new devotees thanks to their top 20 albums We The Collective and Together All The Way released in March 2023, both acoustic reworkings of their much-loved back catalogue.

But the Levellers you will see at Folk by the Oak next summer will be the electric version, as they close the Main Stage with another rousing, high-energy set packed with festival favourites.

Tickets for Folk by the Oak cost from £48.50, children £22, and ages 4 and under are free.

Family and group offers are also available, with 50p from every ticket sold donated to charity partner Willow.
