Hello lovely readers.
Our names are Freddie and Ollie and we are sweet, gentle 10-year-old felines, who have been in the care of Southridge RSPCA for over a year now.
Our lovely owner who was our constant companion passed away and sadly there was no one able to take us on, so we came to live and be cared for at Southridge.
Being older cats, who lost our home, everything that was familiar to us and worst of all the person we loved and trusted all our lives, we were understandably very frightened, timid and confused when we arrived at the centre.
The wonderful staff and volunteers have spent a lot of time sitting with us and helping to reassure us, so gradually we have gained in confidence and now enjoy gentle handling.
I, Freddie am a very soft natured and affectionate boy, while my friend Ollie is still rather nervous and shy but enjoys attention when he feels safe.
We absolutely adore each other and often cuddle up to sleep and we love playing together too. We do think we are a couple of handsome chaps!
The environment we lived in previously was calm and quiet, with no other animals or children. We would really appreciate a similar type of home for our future happiness and wellbeing and will need kindness and patience while we settle.
Like many seniors, we do have some existing medical problems. However, don't worry we are eligible for full medical support through the "Friends of Southridge" foster scheme.
This means all our veterinary care will be provided free to you, but you will need to live within easy travelling distance of the centre and our vets.
