A group of 12 local artists will be showcasing their artwork at the Howard Centre later this month as part of the annual Hertfordshire Open Studios.

There will be a fantastic variety of art on display in the Welwyn Garden City shopping centre, including paintings, sculpture, photography, and printmaking.

To spark even more creativity, there will be live painting and printmaking demonstrations at the pop-up exhibition, and a variety of fun, creative workshops for the public to take part in during the event.

Herts Open Studios is a fabulous free annual event, where artists across the region exhibit their work to promote the arts and invite the public to see them in action.

It’s a great opportunity to interact with artists, buy or commission work from them, or to get creative by joining in with a workshop.

The WGC event will take place in the former 'Dorothy Perkins / Burton' shop in the Howard Centre for one week, from Saturday, September 16 to Sunday, September 24, from 10am to 5pm.

There will be a private view event in the evening of Friday, September 15 to kick off the exhibition.

Holly Casey, Herts Visual Arts area lead for Welwyn Hatfield, said: "We'd love to get lots of people popping in to chat with our artists, to find that special piece of art for their home, to learn new creative techniques, or to simply browse the wonderful art on display."
