Hertford Open-Air Cinema returns on Friday, August 18 with two movies being screened in the grounds of Hertford Castle. 

Organisers will be showing kids animation Sing 2 and Tom Cruise's Top Gun action adventure sequel Top Gun: Maverick.

Hertford Castle will be the backdrop to the outdoor screenings on the Castle Lawn.

Organised by Hertford Town Council, Sing 2 will screen during the day for children and families. 

Gates open at 1.30pm for a 2pm start.

Top Gun: Maverick will be the evening show, suitable for adults, with gates opening at 6.30pm and the film screened from 7pm.

Councillor Ann Woodward, Hertford Town Council's development and leisure committee chair, said: “Do come and join us for these open-air cinema screenings in the beautiful grounds of Hertford Castle.

"What a wonderful way to relax and spend time with family and friends on a summer’s day.”

Visitors are invited to pitch up their picnic chairs and bring their own food and drink, or enjoy the refreshments available to purchase from food and drink stalls throughout the screenings.

It is encouraged that tickets are purchased in advance of the event.

They are priced at £4 per person - while children under 2 go free - for the family daytime performance of Sing 2, and £8 per person for the evening screening of Top Gun: Maverick.
