Contractors of a Welwyn Garden City property have bagged an excellence award after revamping a home to help a family's young daughter with disabilities navigate around with ease.

Hertfordshire Building Control (HBC) nominated RCP Contractors for the Herts & Beds Construction Excellence award.

The winning home had been with the Fulton family for generations, but it required an update.

RCP contractors were hired as the Fulton family's daughter has disabilities and she required a living space that was both safe and easy to move through.

The new chalet bungalow was designed with this in mind, with wide doorways, level access throughout the ground floor, and a specially adapted ground-floor bedroom and bathroom.

Using locally sourced materials, the new home was designed in keeping with the local architecture of a Neo-Georgian style.
