A community gym in Hatfield has reopened after extensive refurbishment, including the installation of new equipment.

Hatfield Town Council's Strength Boutique at Birchwood Leisure Centre is up and running again after a new upright bike, row machine, cross trainer and press machine were introduced to the facility.

"I’m delighted to see Section 106 money being used to improve these facilities," said councillor Jackie Brennan.

"Birchwood Leisure Centre is very much a community-focused asset, and our objective is to make it accessible for the whole community.

"The regular Tuesday session designed specifically for Hatfield’s young women is just one example of how we are making access to sport and recreational facilities easier for Hatfield residents."

"It’s becoming a common knowledge that exercise plays a huge role in making our body and mind healthy," said Pav Medowski, Hatfield Town Council’s health and wellbeing manager.
