The driver of an Aston Martin was rescued by police after his car caught alight during a crash in Hatfield last week.

The blaze began following a serious two-vehicle collision on Thursday, February 16 at around 2.34pm.

The green Aston Martin and a white Tesla were involved in the crash in South Way. 

Two officers travelling in the area were the first to the scene and one of them pulled the driver to safety.

The other driver was uninjured and is assisting police with their enquiries.

PC Matt Holliday, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “The driver of the Aston Martin sustained serious injuries, and was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains at this time.  

“We are continuing our enquiries in order to establish the circumstances surrounding this collision.  

“As part of this, we are appealing to any witnesses to please come forward. If you witnessed the incident, or the events leading up to it, please get in touch. 

“I would especially be keen to hear from you if you have a dash cam fitted to your vehicle – please review the footage as a matter of urgency and send it through to us if you have captured anything that may assist with our investigation.”
