A Welwyn Garden City business was broken into by two people at the weekend.

Resident Dave Ward’s business Alert 365 Ltd was broken into at around 2am on Sunday, January 8. 

The business unit in Martinfield Business Centre was forced open and the lock was snapped.  

It was reported that an empty safe was removed from the wall and stolen, but no other items were taken.

Police have been notified of the break-in and an investigation is underway. 

A spokesperson from Herts police said: "Police were called yesterday afternoon, to report a break-in at a unit at the Martinfield Business Centre in Welwyn Garden City.  

"Between 2am and 2.20am on Sunday, the door to the unit had been forced open and the lock had been snapped. 

"Officers are continuing with their enquiries and ask anyone with information that could help with the investigation to please call 101 quoting crime reference 41/2214/23."
