Residents woke up on Monday morning to find Welwyn Hatfield under a thick blanket of snow, with many venturing out to build snowmen and capture beautiful pictures of the winter wonderland.

Many residents took the rare chance to venture out into the snow, enjoying time with their children as many of the schools in Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield closed for the day.

Others had to go it alone though, with Jay Dalton Hill admitting her son had "ditched" her, but that didn't stop her snow man building.

Another reader, Courtney Jefferies, braved the conditions to continuing working as she delivered home care to the borough's elderly.

The animals were out enjoying it too, including rabbit Boris, the Welwyn Hatfield Times Pet of the Year 2021.
