Welwyn Garden City looks set for a new Burger King restaurant in the town centre.

Eagle-eyed residents have spotted boards in the window of the Howardsgate unit that used to house Bill’s, confirming that Burger King will take over the site.

There are also job vacancies online, advertising for a manager, assistant manager, shift manager and restaurant crew member.

Back in 2018, rumours abound that the fast-food chain would be coming to the town, but this never materialised.

When asked about Burger King coming to the town, a spokesman for Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council said: “We are not the owners of the site and have received no planning applications for it.

“But, an application for a change of use would not be required if it were to remain as a restaurant.”
