School children from Hatfield designed an array of festive decorations which have been placed on illuminated stars and trees at The Galleria.

The Hatfield shopping outlet will bring festive cheer to shoppers as the upper level of the outlet showcases the children’s designs.

Children from Howe Dell School, Hatfield Community School and St Phillip Howard School were given snowflake and bauble templates to create their own hand-decorated designs.

In addition, children supported by Potential Kids, also helped create the decorations.

Potetial Kids is a Welwyn Hatfield-based charity providing learning, social and sports opportunities to neurodiverse children.

Guests visiting The Galleria during the festive period can capture photos in front of the 2.3 metre polar bear on the lower level and by the huge eight-metre Christmas tree.

Tim Stirling, centre director at The Galleria, said: "We’re thrilled to have collaborated with our local community to design our Christmas decorations for the Outlet this year.

"With the help of Potential Kids, local school children, and Get Wild! guests, we have created a bespoke installation, where each decoration tells its own unique story.

“We thoroughly enjoy working alongside different community groups and it makes the guest experience even more special when they can spot their own wonderful creations throughout the outlet.

"We encourage guests to enjoy the fantastic festive displays while carrying out their Christmas shopping at The Galleria in the coming weeks."
