A Welwyn Garden City-based fitness club has achieved two awards at the Anytime Fitness National Conference.

Anytime Fitness based in Welwyn Garden City beat out 200 other branches across the UK to win the Club Team of the Year and the Mystery Shop Performance award.

General manager John Turner said: "It was a great honour to win two awards. Even more so that the awards were based on team performance, which is where I think we differentiate ourselves from other gyms.

“We provide an environment where all members feel part of a community and not just a number. We try to greet everyone with a smile and a warm welcome and always make an effort to get to know our members on a more personal level.

“Our club performance has been great over the previous 12 months and our recovery from the COVID pandemic has been testament to the friendly and engaging team we have in place.

“It was also due to our hard work in integrating our club into the community with charities, partnerships and social events. We have built a good relationship with Oaklands College as well as the council, providing gym access and classes to people in unfortunate situations.” Welwyn Hatfield Times: Anytime Fitness based in Welwyn Garden City beat out two hundred other Anytime Fitness clubs across the UK to win the Club Team of the Year and the Mystery Shop Performance award. The WGC team had won the highest score on their Mystery Shop audit. The score was based on three parts where they were assessed on how they handled different types of enquiries; email, phone call and physical walk-in.

“I got the email and phone call enquiries, but a big shout out to Felicia for smashing the all-important walk-in mystery shop.

Along with this victory, the WGC team has also been shortlisted for Gym Team of the Year for the National Fitness Awards.

“To be shortlisted for the second-year running is a huge achievement. These awards bring together the elite of the fitness industry and to be included in this group of amazing health clubs and fitness individuals highlights our gym ethos and community.

“The standard of competition is very high, and we are immensely proud to even be shortlisted. Let's hope we can bring it home to Welwyn Garden City this time around,” John added.
