Dates for Christmas events in the county town have been confirmed with the annual Hertford Christmas Gala and Hertford Castle Christmas Market both returning in November.
This year, the annual Hertford Christmas Gala will take place in the town centre on Friday, November 25.
The Hertford Castle Christmas Market will run across the whole weekend from Friday, November 25 to Sunday, November 27, 2022.
Both events are organised by Hertford Town Council and sponsored by Johnson & Co, McMullen’s Brewery, and Duffield Harrison.
The festivities take place across the town centre and Hertford Castle grounds, with local residents and visitors encouraged to visit the county town, shop locally and get into the Christmas spirit.
Councillor Jane Sartin, chairman of Hertford Town Council’s development and leisure committee, said: “Hertford Town Council’s Christmas Gala and Market will provide the perfect opportunity to shop locally in the run up to Christmas, and get the festive season under way.
“There will be entertainment to enjoy and, as well as the additional market stalls, all the shops and places to eat and drink that our town has to offer."
When is the Hertford Christmas Gala 2022?
The Hertford Christmas Gala will take place on Friday, November 25 from 3.30pm to 8pm.
The town centre streets will be filled with Christmas market stalls and food stands.
There will be fairground rides, and singers and entertainers will perform live on-stage including Stagecoach Hertford, Simon Balle Big Band, and a Ukrainian choir singing traditional Christmas songs.
Stalls at the Hertford Christmas Gala include:
• Wooden planters, garden items
• Deli and cheese selection from French and Day
• Hertford Sauce Co
• Mulled wine and minced pies from the Rotary Club
• Cosmetics from Lucy Bee
• Food, drinks and fairground rides
• Nativity set from All Saints Baptist Church.
In addition, over this festive weekend, many of the town centre retailers will offer in-store discounts and promotions which will be confirmed closer to the event.
When is the Hertford Castle Christmas Market 2022?
The Hertford Castle Christmas Market will take place on the following dates:
- Friday, November 25: 3.30pm – 8pm
- Saturday, November 26: 11am – 6pm
- Sunday, November 27: 11am – 5pm
Hertford Castle will host a three-day Christmas market within its spectacular grounds.
The event will be free of charge to attend and boasts an array of Christmas market stalls on the Castle Lawn selling a selection of products and presents –perfect for those who like to shop early and local for Christmas.
In addition, there will be fairground rides, live entertainment for guests to enjoy, and food and drink stands providing seasonal treats.
