A BODYBUILDER has been slapped with a caution after illegally importing human growth hormone from China.
The 39-year-old WGC resident was rumbled after HM Revenue and Customs scanned a package and discovered it contained somatropin.
It was intercepted, but the controlled substance was bought by the same man again.
This time it was sent to another address
Police officers stepped in and cautioned the bodybuilder for importing a controlled drug.
In total 193 vials were recovered with an estimated value of £1,500
Neighbourhood Sergeant Malcolm Dey told the WHT: “If you are tempted to purchase substances online you have to remember it might be a restricted drug that could lead to a prosecution.
“From a public safety point of view you have no idea what is in the substance because it is unregulated.”
Sgt Dey advised anyone tempted to buy chemicals online to seek advise from the police.
