HERTSMERE has a new mayor.

After completing a year in charge outgoing Cllr Pat Stack will pass the mayoral chains on to Cllr Paul Morris OBE.

The new mayor was inaugurated on Wednesday, and his deputy will be Cllr Carey Keates.

Each mayor has a chosen charity which they will raise money for. Now ex-mayor Pat Strack raised more than £30,000 for Hertfordshire Air Ambulance.

New mayor Paul Morris is also a councillor in Bushey.

He said: “I am very much looking forward to my year as mayor during which I will be raising money for The Ben Kinsella Trust, which campaigns against knife crime and learning disability charity Langdon.

“I’m planning a few major fundraising events which include a charity bike ride from Paris to London and onto Borehamwood, a charity golf day and of course the annual civic dinner and awards ceremony.”

If you would like the mayor to attend one of your events please contact the mayor’s secretary on 020 8207 7477 or email mayors.secretary@hertsmere.gov.uk
