A VIP with a difference has been drafted in to officially open the YMCA’s new shop in Welwyn Garden City’s Howard Centre.
For the man doing the honours is our very own editor Terry Mitchinson.
Not only will he be cutting the ribbon but he will also be around in the first floor store for a couple of hours to give readers another chance to have a chat with him about issues that concern you.
“It will be a variation of our Red Sofa theme,” he said.
The opening will take place at 11.30am on Thursday next week (November 21) and he will be in store until 1.30pm.
A spokeswoman said: “We’d like to invite anyone coming to see Terry to also bring a bag of clothes, household items or bric a brac to donate too.
“Every penny raised goes to YMCA Central Herts and our projects generally, but specifically supporting our Space community drop-in centre in the town [opposite Sainsburys], so it’s great news for local people.”
