A shoplifter who made her escape from Asda in Hatfield by driving into a security guard has been spared jail.
Natasha Johnson, 42, twice reversed into security guard Steve Kuklys at the town centre store in January.
She had been suspected of stealing clothes but when asked to produce the receipt by Mr Kuklys, she drove into his legs, knocking him backwards.
She pleaded guilty to theft, causing actual bodily harm and careless driving at St Albans Crown Court on Friday, August 28.
However she avoided jail as she is the sole carer for her disabled daughter, who was in the car at the time.
Recorder Patrick Fields told her: “I have sympathy for your daughter, but not for you.”
