Hertfordshire County Council has said it is looking into a perilous road near a Welwyn school after two accidents happened within hours of each other.
A council spokeswoman said: “Hertfordshire County Council is aware that a number of collisions have taken place in recent years on the A1000, Hertford Road, at the junction near Sherrardswood School.
“In recent months we installed ‘slippery road’ signs at this location, advising motorists to take caution.
“Carriageway surfacing was undertaken in 2012 and we are currently assessing whether the location requires further surface treatment in the coming year.
“We would like to remind motorists to be mindful of the road conditions when driving during the winter months.”
It follows two accidents on Sunday along the stretch, which twice forced the road to close.
