Bailey the dog, Roger the cat and Duey the Russian hamster are this week’s trio of pets at RSPCA Southridge near Potters Bar looking for new homes.

• Beautiful Bailey is an eight-year-old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier. She was signed over to the RSPCA after she stopped getting along with the other dog in her home.

“We are looking for an understanding and experienced owner as Bailey is completely deaf,” said a Southridge spokeswoman.

“She is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves a fuss and really loves to play.

“We feel she will need to be re-homed to an adult home where someone is around for most of the day and has no other pets.”

• Handsome Roger is a seven-year-old male domestic shorthair.

He needs a new home due to his owner sadly passing away.

A spokeswoman for the RSPCA centre at Packhorse Lane said: “He is a very lovely boy who is a little nervous to begin with but once he gets to know you he enjoys a fuss and a cuddle.”

She added Roger is “a quiet boy” who needs a loving, patient, adult home without any dogs.

Roger has lived with cats in the past so he may be able to live with another cat.

He needs access to the outdoors so he can explore at his leisure.

• Cute little Duey is a female Russian hamster who is under sixth months old.

Duey came from a household where the hamsters were left to breed and the situation became out of control.

She is a friendly girl who will require a spacious cage/tank with lots of toys for her to explore.
