A traffic warden was taken to hospital with a suspected fractured jaw after being assaulted in Hatfield.

Police were called to Aviation Avenue at 4.53pm yesterday to reports that a man in his 30s had been assaulted by a group of men.

The victim, a traffic warden, had issued a parking ticket and got into an altercation with around six men, one of whom punched him in the jaw.

He was taken to hospital in an ambulance, believing to be suffering from a fractured jaw.

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact Herts Police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/42090/18.
