THE closure of Hatfield Tunnel has been explained in detail at a public exhibition today.
The A1(M)'s northbound tunnel is set to be closed from July 2009 to May 2010 with the southbound tunnel shut from May 2010 to March 2011.
Four lanes of traffic will travel through the open carriageway - two in each direction - throughout the works.
A 40mph speed limit will be in place as work gets under way from May.
The exhibition runs until 9pm today (Friday) and from 10am to 5pm tomorrow (Saturday) at the Ramada Jarvis hotel, St Albans Road West, Hatfield.
