THE new chief executive of the Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) has been appointed.
Tom Cahill started his new job at the organisation, which provides services for mental health, and learning disabilities,at the start of April.
Previously deputy chief executive at the trust, since 2007, Mr Cahill, who lives in Stevenage, said: "I am delighted to be taking on the post.
"The trust already has a good reputation, which has been developed over many years under the leadership of Bill Macintyre.
"I look forward to continuing the journey towards achieving our vision of becoming the leading provider of mental health and specialist learning disability services in the country."
Hattie Llewelyn-Davies, chairman of HPFT welcomed Mr Cahill's new position.
She said: "We are entering a challenging time.
"I am confident Tom's passion for quality in mental health and learning disability services will enable us to provide the best possible care, treatment and support for our service users and carers.
