AMONG 100 St Bernards removed from kennels after a prosecution case, in Northamptonshire, are the threesome Nana, Heidi and Alice.

The new arrivals at RSPCA Southridge Animal Centre were taken to the South Mimms care home last week.

Staff at the centre are urging readers to help give the one-year-old dogs a new start in life, a new home and a loving family.

A spokeswoman for the Packhorse Lane centre told the WHT: "We are appealing for dedicated owners to take on these lovely girls.

"These dogs have lived their whole life in kennels, never experiencing what it is like to live in a house.

"They are not use to walking on leads and would have never experienced the day to day running of a household so all this will be so new to them."

She added: "St Bernards are a large breed of dog weighing between 50kg and 91kg.

"They are a lovely companion breed that will be a real asset to any family."

The threesome will need a home with a reasonable amount of space, and will also need regular grooming.

The dogs have good temperaments but their kennel background means they will need experienced owners with the knowledge and help to settle them into their new homes.

If you can offer the animals a new start in life, call the animal care home on 0300 123 0704.

Alternatively you can visit them at the centre open every day, except Wednesdays, from 11am until 4.15pm.
