FESTIVAL-GOERS are being urged to keep an eye out for suspicious behaviour at Sonisphere this weekend.
The festival, held in Knebworth Park, kicks off tomorrow (Thursday) and will run until Monday.
Around 30,000 music lovers are expected to attend and dozens of bands including metal legends Metallica and US nu-metal titans Linkin Park will be performing on Saturday and Sunday.
Superintendant Simon Hawkins said: "We have been working with the festival organisers for a year planning and preparing for this event to ensure it runs smoothly and people coming to the event, are able to enjoy it safely.
"Although we are not expecting high levels of crime at the event there will be a police base at the site and officers will be present at all times working alongside organisers, event security and stewards."
He added: "CCTV will be in operation at the site and will be constantly monitored."
"It is also important people coming to the event work with us to ensure the event is safe and successful, and I would urge people to take care of themselves and their friends and consider crime prevention advice to reduce their risk of becoming a victim of crime.
"We are expecting increased traffic on the A1M around junction 7 during the course of the weekend and I would ask drivers who are not going to the event to avoid the area where possible.
"For those coming to the event by car, please leave plenty of time for your journey."
If you see anything suspicious or untoward at the festival call 01438 811709.
