A GAS leak brought traffic to a standstill close to a village in Times Territory at the weekend.
Police closed off the A1000 Hertford Road near Welwyn for over five and a half hours on Sunday - leaving motorists and residents furious.
The road was closed from 10.55am to after 5.30pm, and left one angry Welwyn resident fuming.
"It caused absolute chaos," he said. "We had no notification, no diversion signs, people trying to get in and out of the village didn't know where to go.
"The village is already struggling with the one way system and this is just another nail in the coffin.
