A RECORD crowd including a number of dignitaries gathered in Hatfield for the Act of Remembrance.
Lord Salisbury joined Welwyn Hatfield deputy mayor Howard Morgan, deputy lieutenant of Hertfordshire Jane Pitman and dozens of residents at the memorial gardens in Great North Road to commemorate the glorious dead.
The two minutes’ silence was followed by a church service at St Etheldreda’s Church in Fore Street.
Speaking to the WHT, Cllr Morgan said: “The feedback I got from the police was that it was the biggest crowd we have ever had here.
“The Remembrance Garden was full and people were three to four deep outside the wall.”
