UKIP Hertsmere candidate, David Rutter, has told the Potters Bar Edition that he is considering standing as a councillor in the next set of local elections.

The 57-year-old, from Potters Bar, feels support in Hertsmere is too strong for James Clappison, and the Conservatives, for any other candidate to get in, but has said he is pleased with the support he has recieved within his nearby area.

“I cant think of anything else .

“He knows his stuff; I feel in the end the result will go his way we are just waiting to see who will come second,” the Tempest Avenue resident said.

“I feel I’ve done well in Potters Bar though and the reason I say that is because a lot of people know me in the area and I’ve done a lot of work with them.

“But saying that, you can canvas and canvas but when it gets down to it and people are in the polling booth they might just change their minds.”

The proffesional driver went on to add that due to this support he thinks he, or another UKIP member, may well do better in the next set of local elections, standing as a councillor.
