ROOFTOP thieves stole around 10ft of lead from an office building in WGC.

The metal was stolen from the front of the Gatehouse office on Fretherne Road, between 8.30pm on Saturday, April 2, and 1.30pm the following day.

The thieves climbed onto a flat roof close to Iceland supermarket, before prising the lead flashing from the building.

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward, and have released details of two young suspects they are hunting in connection with the crime.

Both are described as white, slim, and aged between 13 and 16.

The first suspect had short, fair hair and was wearing a light blue hooded top, grey tracksuit bottoms, and white and black trainers.

The second suspect had collar length black hair and was wearing a black hooded jacket, dark trousers and black footwear.

Pc Gavin Richardson said: “Two hours before the offence, at just after 6.30pm on April 2, two young men were seen acting suspiciously in the area, hiding from passing cars and checking security cameras before leaving. We believe they may have been making plans to return later and carry out the theft, under the cover of darkness.

“I would like to encourage anyone who saw these men earlier on the Saturday and could even identify them to get in touch. Also, if you have any other information on the crime itself and who the offenders might be, I would urge you to contact me.”
