Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault in Hatfield


Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a 17-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted in Hatfield.

The attack occurred in Dragon Road at around 10am on Saturday, April 2 following a verbal altercation between a male and a female.

The girl sustained a serious injury to her lip after she was allegedly struck to the face.

Detective Constable Courtney Turner, who is investigating, said: “The victim’s injuries are so severe that she will require surgery.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any other information about what happened, to please get in contact.”

A 17-year-old male from Hatfield has been charged in connection with the assault and has been remanded into custody pending his next court appearance.
