Tier Two restrictions are “the right place” for Hertfordshire despite a fall in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks, according to the leader of the county council.

The borough is set to deliver 13,277 homes under the draft Welwyn Hatfield Local Plan following a full council meeting earlier this week.

Following an announcement by the Government this morning, it is confirmed that Welwyn Hatfield and Hertsmere will be in Tier Two, ‘High Alert’, when lockdown ends on December 2.

A Hertsmere borough councillor has said she is deeply upset after being called a “misogynistic” word by a fellow councillor at a full council meeting earlier this month.

The coronavirus infection rate in Hertfordshire fell last week and is well below the national average, suggesting it should avoid being placed in the highest tier of restrictions.
