SIR – It is with regret that we had to suspend the meals on wheels service on Monday and Tuesday, February 2 and 3. The weather caused the roads and pavements to be very difficult to negotiate. Side roads and pavements were still treacherous on Tuesday.
SIR - It is with regret that we had to suspend the meals on wheels service on Monday and Tuesday, February 2 and 3. The weather caused the roads and pavements to be very difficult to negotiate. Side roads and pavements were still treacherous on Tuesday.
Every customer was telephoned on Monday and Tuesday to explain that we could not get to them and most fully understood. In fact many expressed their concern for the drivers.
Our officers were on standby for anyone who was in a vulnerable situation, but they were not needed. Family and neighbours had already stepped in.
