Sir - As a long standing member and former chairman of our Royal British Legion branch I would like to thank all members of the public who gave their support to the Remembrance Day Parade. In many years attending this I feel this was the largest show of public support to date. The work of the Legion is more than ever in demand. On welfare eight cases have been dealt with recently, not only from troops returning from conflicts but also many veterans who may be having difficulty. This is where Poppy Appeal funds go, in our area many cases have been dealt with by branch team of caseworkers.
After the parade was dismissed a member of the public handed to one of our members Shipmate Dicky Monk a 'Northern Ireland General Service Medal'. If the person who lost this medal would like to contact the WHT, I shall be pleased to return the medal to whom it belongs.
Jim Worron, Greenfield, WGC.
