Sir - Further to Cllr Derrick Ashley's letter on the "Let's recycle cardboard" issue (March 19). I am very disappointed that this gentleman seems to feel that the Cole Green centre is adequate provision for Welwyn Hatfield's cardboard.
This is no help at all if, like myself, you don't have a car. I can't cycle there with my cardboard and there is no public transport to the site.
Anyway, recycling is supposed to be a "green" thing to do, surely not if you have to make a car journey to do so!
On a more positive note I am pleased to hear that we will soon be able to recycle cans without kerbside collections and I would very much like to know when this will be possible for card.
