Sir - Chief constable of Hertfordshire, Frank Whiteley has said that members of the general public should have a greater role in policing with a more active Neighbourhood Watch system.
Contrary to what he says this does seem like policing on the cheap. It is also unwise for members of the public to involve themselves in situations that could be dangerous - or land themselves in trouble.
