SIR - I agree with Eileen Bannister (letters, March 18) regarding parking problems at Lister Hospital.
I thought it was ironic when recently a senior heart surgeon had to apologise to his waiting clinic for being over an hour late for their appointed times.
The reason he was so late was not due to an operation running overtime or due to heavy traffic from Harefield hospital but by being unable to find a parking space at Lister.
If this is happening on a daily basis to consultants at his level and at his fee, how much is this costing the NHS for time wasted?
